What they are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser to remember something from one page to the next. This site uses very few, and none of them track you.

The ones this site uses

fdl-lingua: stores the language you chose, so you do not have to choose it again. It is created when you use the language switcher and lasts one year.

fdl-sessao: exists only for those who sign in to the Organising Committee's management area. It holds the open session, cannot be read by scripts (httpOnly) and lasts 8 hours.

fdl-admin: goes with the previous one and only tells the site that a session is open, so the editing tools are shown. On its own it grants no access.

Your shopping cart is not a cookie: it lives in the browser's local storage (fdl-carrinho-3), on your device, is never sent to the server and disappears when you empty the cart or clear your browser data.

Why we do not ask for consent

The law only requires consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary: advertising, analytics or profiling. This site has none of those: no Google Analytics or equivalent, no social network pixels, no embedded videos or maps, and typefaces are served from this domain. The cookies above either follow from a choice you made or are needed for the site to work, so there is no banner asking for your permission.

How to control them

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the site goes back to showing itself in your browser's language, the cart is emptied and the management area can no longer keep a session open.

Changes

If we ever start using cookies that require consent, this page is updated and a permission request appears before they are created.
